First night this week with the tracker running. Six hours on shift, couple miles of laps around the building and out through the park. There’s a routing issue on one of the upstream peers that’s been nagging me for two days β something about the way the prefixes are announcing doesn’t sit right. Walking helps me think through it. The NOC at 2 AM is quiet enough that nobody notices you’re gone for twenty minutes.
Louisville in July. Even midnight is humid. But the building’s over-air-conditioned to the point where stepping outside feels like entering a different country. Freezing to soup in three seconds.
2.45 miles across the whole shift. Not exercise. Just an engineer who can’t sit still.
Distance: 2.45 mi
