I forget words more often now than not

I have no safety net

Nothing to look forward to

Nothing to look back on

I’ve built things that’ll far outlast me

But who checks on the engineer?

Who is concerned with the health of the caretaker?

How can I fix everything else around me if I can’t even fix myself?
