Evening shift. Stepped out around nine because the fluorescent lights were starting to win. Half a mile loop β barely enough to call a walk, but enough to remember the sky exists.
Louisville in late July smells like cut grass and exhaust even after dark. The parking lot lights made everything orange. I didn’t think about anything in particular, which is rare for me. Usually I’m chewing on some OSPF adjacency or wondering why a circuit in Nashville keeps bouncing. This time it was just walking.
Eleven minutes. Back inside. The screens hadn’t missed me.
Sometimes the point is just to prove your legs still work after eight hours in a chair.
